This policy outlines how Matt and Dan's Campervans Limited collect, store, use and disclose your personal information in connection with our vehicle rental services. We respect your privacy and therefore only collect personal information where we consider it to be necessary in providing our products and services while complying with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1993.

When you interact with us and use our online applications, you accept this Privacy Policy for handling your personal information. You are also responsible for ensuring that any other persons travelling with you are aware of the contents of this Privacy Policy and agree to you supplying their personal information to us on their behalf. 

References to “you” means you, our customer and/or any user of Matt and Dan's Campervans Limited’s products, services, and websites including any additional drivers and passengers travelling with you.

References to “we,'' “our”, “us” and “Matt and Dan's Campervans” means Matt and Dan's Campervans Limited and includes any employee, agent or contractor of Matt and Dan's Campervans Limited.

“Personal Information” is information about you that identifies you, or by which your identity can reasonably be ascertained and any other personal information given to us as part of the enquiry and booking process. 

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If this occurs we will post an updated policy on our website.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

We may collect the following personal information from you:

• Booking contact information such as name, email address, mailing address, phone number, passport details, date of birth, drivers licence and photo, payment information and credit card details.

• Preference information such as product or service requests.

• Demographic information such as age, gender, interests and post/zip code.

• Social media services such as Instagram and Facebook. These services may be linked to our website through the use of social media buttons. Your use of these third party services is entirely optional.

• Marketing information including any posts or photographs to our social pages or any competitions entered. 

• Technology information about your computer such as your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and operating system.

• Location data including global position system tracking and other location information obtained from smartphones, tablets, GPS or other devices that monitor the vehicle's current and previous geographic locations.

• Any information as described on the Hire Agreement.

We may use this information to:

• Send you the requested product or service information

• Secure your booking 

• Respond to customer service requests, questions or concerns

• Administer your account

• Send you marketing communications and product updates or promotions

• Improve our services, website and marketing response

• Conduct research and analysis

• Collect debt, transfer fines incurred, process damage or excess reduction claims

• Track our vehicles

• Detect and prevent fraud and other illegal or unwanted activities including preventing unsafe drivers from hiring vehicles

Cookies and Tracking

We may use cookies on this website. It can contain information about your device, your IP address, your session, and the online activity on the website of anyone using your device. Most browsers allow you to disable or reject the use of cookies. Cookies may be used for digital marketing purposes to help us serve relevant ads. If you disable or reject the use of cookies some functionality on our website may not be available or it may take longer to use that functionality.

Our website includes Widgets, which are interactive mini-programs that run on our site to provide specific services from another company, such as displaying reviews, photographs and comments. Personal information, such as your name and email address, may be collected through the Widget. Cookies may also be set by the Widget to enable it to function properly. Information collected by this Widget is governed by the privacy policy of the company that created it.

Choice/Opt-Out

From time to time we may send you marketing material and invite you to participate in research surveys. You may choose to opt out or unsubscribe or you can contact us directly at hello@mattanddanscampervans.co.nz to stop receiving our information. 

Information Obtained From Third Parties

If you provide us personal information about others, or if others give us your information, we will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.

Information Sharing

Matt and Dan's Campervans Limited will not sell your personal information to third parties. If we share your personal information with third parties it will only be in the ways that are described in this Privacy Policy.

We may provide your personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities or as we are required by law. 

Current companies we share our information with include:

• GMH Systems (Rental Car Manager) - so we can process your reservation.

• Wincave Ltd - so we can process your payments. 

• Alphabet Inc - so we can contact you and provide transactional or marketing information.

Security and Management of Personal Information

We understand that the security of your personal information is important to you as it is to us. 

When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number), we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). 

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us via various means. Security of the transmission of data over the internet can never be guaranteed, however, we take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. 

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, or to comply with any legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Where we no longer require your personal information for a permitted purpose we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
