OUR WORK.

Mercedes Sprinter Campervan Conversion

Ben’s Mercedes Sprinter.

Ben came to us with an ex-courier 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and some big ideas. He wanted a fit-out that was comfortable, sustainable, and set up for off-grid culinary adventures. Ben had many ideas mapped out but was ready for us to stretch the boundaries and build the perfect van.

Ainsley’s Toyota Hiace ZX Jumbo.

Ainsley came to us with her Toyota Hiace ZX Jumbo and one request — to make her campervan the ultimate weekend getaway vehicle. The Toyota Hiace ZX Jumbo — also known as the Grand Cabin or Minibus — happens to be one of the finest for campervan conversions on the market, so we were ready to create a dream adventure vehicle for Ainsley, her partner, and their pup.

Ian’s LDV V80 Bigger.

When Ian came to us with his LDV V80 campervan conversion, we knew we were in for a treat. With intentions to live in the van full time, we worked to make the space as comfortable and functional as possible, all while creating a cosy atmosphere.

Nick’s Toyota Hiace Minibus.

Nick’s Toyota Hiace campervan conversion (dubbed ‘Bilbo’) gave us a lot more space and features to play with, allowing us to create a true home on wheels. With space for the whole family and then some, this campervan conversion makes use of every inch, all while keeping it spacious and lofty.

Campervan Conversions.

Not only are we experienced at campervan conversions - we love it! Our conversions have ranged from large, vanlife style fit-outs to simple, niche interiors. We love the challenge of creating practical, beautiful fit-outs that suit your needs.

Building a custom campervan is very similar to building a home. You will likely need some of the following: water, electrical, heating, and cooling systems. These need to be spec’d, designed, and created for your intended use.

Before you reach out, it’s good to get some baseline knowledge. Have a read through this page and check out the FAQs to learn more.

The process.

Step 1. Discover

This is where we get to know you and your adventure-mobile. It’s important that we take some time to get to know each other and figure out what you want in your conversion. To do this we schedule an intro call or, if you’re local, get you in for a workshop visit.

What happens here?

  • We get you into the workshop for a chat or hop on a call to discuss your project ideas and our conversion process

  • We get an idea of the scope of your conversion

  • We provide you with a ballpark estimate for your conversion

  • If you already have your vehicle, bring it in for us to have a look at and measure up

We do our best to provide an accurate estimate up front. However, at this stage the pricing supplied is an estimate only, giving you a guide to the cost of the project

The finalised pricing will be determined once the design and consultation stage (including the render if applicable) has been completed and finalised scope of works has been determined.

Step 2. Design

Now that we’ve met you and gotten an idea of what you’re looking for in your project, we can move into the design & consultation stage of the build, which requires a design and consultation fee. This is where things get real! You get to see a render of your conversion and we chat you through our thinking before we cut holes in anything.

What happens here?

  • We create 3D renders of a conversion concept

  • We chat you through all aspects of the conversion and our thinking around the design

  • We explain all the components/parts we’ve spec’d and details for the conversion

  • We pencil you in for the next available conversion time slot

  • You make any changes to the design, function, colour and options to the conversion

Why a design fee?

Our non-refundable design fee is standard for all our custom builds. This enables us to begin the design phase and allows you to receive renders for your build. If you decide to continue with your Matt + Dan’s build after this step, that’s great! If you’d rather part ways, you’ll receive the 3D render and no hard feelings from us - so do what you like.

Step 3. Confirm

Now we’re at the truly exciting part. Almost at production, we just need full confirmation, and then it’s all a go!

What happens here?

  • We provide a finalised quote based on the actual scope of work, materials and components specified

  • Confirm and sign off on the final quote, plans, colours, and materials

  • We lock you in for the next available conversion time slot

  • We issue your first invoice, generally around 50% of the total quote

Please note, that from here no major updates can be made to the plans without additional design costs being incurred. Quotes are only valid for 30 days beyond the issue date.

Step 4. Production

Now we’re ready to go! Here, we’ll order all the parts and materials and get started, keeping you in the loop along the way.

What happens here?

  • We order parts and materials in preparation for production

  • You deliver your vehicle to the workshop when your build slot arrives

  • You pay a further progress payment of 25% of the total quote, and the balance upon completion

  • We start the build and keep you updated on its progress

Step 5. Completion

This is where the celebration happens! We deliver your finished vehicle and you drive off into the sunset.

What happens here?

  • You pay the remaining balance when you pick up the van

  • We deliver your completed vehicle, with a complete handover to explain all elements

  • You do a happy dance

FAQ’S.

How much does it cost to build a full custom van?

Pricing for a conversion ranges depending on features, finishes and components selected. Often it’s difficult to give out an estimated price without us getting some context as to what you want in your conversion. Get in touch if you’d like to get an estimate for your conversion.

How long does it take to build a van?

A full conversion takes approximately 8-12 weeks from when your van arrives at our workshop. The estimating and design stages take approximately 2-4 weeks.

What is your current production schedule?

Our wait time to start a conversion is generally 3-4 months. That said, from time to time there’s exceptions in our schedule due to cancellations or delays. Reach out and we’ll see what we can do.

What are your payment terms?

For a full conversion, our payment terms are as follows:

  • Once the job scope and estimate have been agreed upon, the design fee must be paid before we continue with any work

  • 50% of the estimate once the renders have been finalised and estimate has been updated (if necessary)

  • 25% of estimate once building commences

  • 25% of estimate upon completion

Do you offer a warranty?

We stand behind our work and your conversion. Our warranty is similar to what we’ve found is the industry standard.

We offer a 1 year warranty on our craftsmanship and materials. This does not cover general wear and tear or damage from misuse.

Components such as fans, fridges and electrical items are subject to the manufacturer's warranty restrictions. However, in the event that you have a problem with any components, we are here to help you get it sorted out.

What models/size of vans do you work on?

We work on all models and sizes of vans!

Can you sell me a van?

We do not currently sell vans, either empty or already converted. However, we’re a part of a well-connected network and have the resources available to help you locate and purchase a van. Shoot us an email!

Do you offer financing?

Not at the moment, sorry!

Do you have any finished vans for sale?

Not at the moment. We currently only build vans to order.

Can I come tour your shop and see what you're working on?

We always enjoy chatting everything van related. However, we ask that you contact us and arrange an appointment to visit our workshop or else we wouldn’t get anything done! Shoot us an email to book in.
