When it comes to van conversions, there's nothing like a personal touch to elevate a journey. Campervan lovers Matt and Rachel decided to upgrade their trusty Toyota Hiace to a Toyota Hiace Jumbo. With a keen eye for detail and a clear vision of what they wanted, they reached out to us for a custom conversion that would meet their standards.
Here’s a deep dive into the features of their new van, from its clean aesthetic to innovative storage solutions and the powerful Delta 2 Max system.

A few of our favourite things about this Toyota Hiace Jumbo Campervan Conversion:

Aesthetic

Matt and Rachel went for a turnkey conversion on their Hiace, allowing them to customise elements but maximise simplicity and elegance. They decided to forgo wood panelling—saving on costs without compromising style. The ‘classic’ white and wood colour options maintained a bright and airy atmosphere inside the van, complementing the existing light grey interior of the vehicle and made the van feel larger.

Furthermore, the custom-designed in-house magnetic curtains added practicality and style. These thermal-lined curtains help regulate temperature and block out light, making them a fantastic addition for the fickle temps of New Zealand.

Storage Solutions

One of the standout features of Matt and Rachel’s Hiace conversion is the optimised storage solutions. Our Jumbo turnkey van layout includes strategic overhead storage and under-bed compartments, offering ample space for all their gear. This design ensures that every inch of the van is utilised efficiently, allowing for organisation and convenience.

In line with self-containment requirements, Matt and Rachel opted for a self-contained cassette toilet rather than an additional storage cupboard. This choice adheres to the green sticker regulations while maximising the functional space available.

Ecoflow Delta 2 Max Power System

To power their van’s appliances and enjoy some creature comforts, Matt and Rachel integrated the Ecoflow Delta 2 Max system into their campervan conversion. This powerful unit features a 2400W inverter, allowing them to run various appliances including their twin induction hob without the need for a gas element.

A small but mighty unit, it supports alternator charging, solar power, and shore power connections, offering flexibility whether they’re on the road or parked up. The convenience of monitoring and controlling the system via a smartphone app makes it simple to keep track of power usage and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Matt and Rachel’s turnkey Toyota Jumbo conversion is a testament to thoughtful design and customization. By focusing on a clean aesthetic, smart storage solutions, and cutting-edge technology, they’re campervan is functional and stylish, perfectly suited for their New Zealand explorations.
