Custom Campervan Conversions.
Since 2020, our Christchurch workshop has been turning out custom conversions—from lavish vanlife setups to sleek minimalist designs.
This process is hands-on with you—we consult and design up your dream van, picking out colours, fixtures, and more to make sure it truly fits your needs. You’ll even receive a 3D render to visualise your conversion before we get on the tools. You’ll feel like family by the time it’s finished!
Our Work.
Sam’s Mercedes Sprinter 4x4.
Heading off road was Sam’s biggest priority when he asked us to convert his 4WD Mercedes Sprinter 316 into a campervan. Coming from the 4x4 world, Sam wanted something that could easily handle any track, yet was comfortable enough for his whole family.
Ainsley’s Toyota Hiace ZX Jumbo.
Ainsley came to us with her Toyota Hiace ZX Jumbo and one request — to make her campervan the ultimate weekend getaway vehicle. We were ready to create a dream adventure vehicle for Ainsley, her partner, and their pup.
Ben’s Mercedes Sprinter.
Ben came to us with an ex-courier 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and some big ideas. He wanted a fit-out that was comfortable, sustainable, and set up for off-grid culinary adventures. Ben had many ideas mapped out but was ready for us to stretch the boundaries and build the perfect van.
Bridget’s Toyota Coaster.
Bridget and her family of four wanted a campervan that could be a home base for wherever they wanted to go. As marathon runners who love exploring New Zealand, a Toyota Coaster was their vehicle of choice, offering plenty of space for the comforts of home.

The process.
-
This is where we get to know you and your campervan, diving into your vision for the conversion. After some insight gathering and filling out our intake form, we’ll provide you with more information about the process and provide you with a general scope of your conversion.
What happens here?
We provide you more information around the process
We get a general scope of your conversion via our intake form
-
Once we’ve created your estimate, we’ll book a workshop visit or call with Dan to discuss in more detail—this part can be complex.
What happens here?
We run you through the detailed estimate line by line
We explain all the parts we’ve spec’d and details for the entire conversion
We go into the details and discuss options for colours and materials
You can provide feedback on the estimate to change the scope or costs
Once we’re in agreement we move into the design and consultation portion of the build
We do our best to provide an accurate estimate up front. However, at this stage the pricing supplied is an estimate only, giving you a guide to the cost of the project.
The finalised pricing will be determined once the design and consultation stage (including the render if applicable) has been completed and finalised scope of works has been determined.
-
Now we’re really diving in—here we provide you with a render of your conversion and chat about our design and components chosen.
Please note, this portion includes a nonrefundable design fee.
What happens here?
We create 3D renders of a conversion concept and send them to you along with an updated estimate, if needed
We chat about all aspects of the conversion and our designs
We explain all the components and parts we’ve spec’d and details for the conversion
You make any changes to the design, function, colour, and options on the conversion
We pencil you in for the next available conversion time slot
Why a design fee?
Our non-refundable design fee is standard for all our custom builds. It’s one of the most time-consuming parts of our conversions— where we consider the layout, components needed, time and skills required, and so much more. A lot goes into this render! If you decide to continue with your Matt + Dan’s build after this step, that’s great! If you’d rather part ways, you’ll receive our design and 3D render deck with no hard feelings from us.
-
Now we’re at the truly exciting part. Almost at production, we just need full confirmation before it’s all a go!
What happens here?
We provide a finalised quote based on the actual scope of work, materials, and components specified
Confirm and sign off on the final quote, plans, colours, materials, and project acceptance forms
We lock you in for the next available conversion time slot
We issue your first invoice, 50% of the total quote
Please note— from here, no major updates can be made to the plans without additional design costs incurred. Quotes are only valid for 30 days past the issue date.
-
Now we’re ready to go! Here, we’ll order all the parts and materials and get started, keeping you in the loop along the way.
What happens here?
We order parts and materials in preparation for production
You deliver your vehicle to the workshop one week before your build slot begins
You pay a further progress payment of 25% of the total quote, and the balance upon completion
We start the build and keep you updated on its progress
-
This is the good part—you pick up your finished vehicle and drive off into the sunset.
What happens here?
You pay the remaining balance when you pick up the van
You pick up your completed vehicle, with a complete handover to explain all elements
You do a happy dance
