Featured Van: Bridget’s Toyota Coaster Campervan Conversion

Bridget and her family of four wanted a campervan that could be a home base for wherever they wanted to go. As marathon runners who love exploring New Zealand, a Toyota Coaster was their vehicle of choice, offering plenty of space for the comforts of home.

Check out how we turned their Toyota Coaster into the perfect adventure rig for a family of four.

A few of our favourite things about this Toyota Coaster Campervan Conversion:

Home on Wheels

Since this Toyota Coaster is for the whole family, the conversion needed to be comfortable, functional, and have all the niceties of home. That meant installing beautiful kitchen appliances like an LPG hob and tapware, a large Isotherm fridge and freezer for post-run snacks, and a power system that can run just about anything.

We also included an internal shower and hot water system to make sure Bridget and her family could feel squeaky clean after long runs.

Seats and Sleeps Four

A family of four, this space needed to accommodate everyone, at all times. Our favourite addition to this space were the bunk beds. The built-ins give the kids a place to hang out while not taking up too much space. We also built custom seats at the front that double as a dining/card playing/general hanging out area.

Important Vibes

Natural light was important to Bridget, so we framed up as many windows as possible, allowing morning sunrises and stunning sunsets to stream through. A custom roof rack became a space saver for additional gear and allowed us to mount a solar system. Finally, multiple lighting options helped make the space feel homey, so we added dimmable lights with multiple zones and mood lighting for cosy night time vibes.

Bridget’s Toyota Coaster gave us plenty of room to play, ensuring we could create the cosy home on wheels she hoped for. We hope to see Bridget and her family out enjoying the freedom their campervan brings!
