Featured Van: Jane’s Mercedes Sprinter Campervan Conversion

Mercedes Sprinter Campervan Conversion

Full time vanlife is a daydream for some, but for Jane, it’s reality. After selling her business, Jane bought a Mercedes Sprinter campervan and decided to give vanlife a try, wandering around New Zealand in her home on wheels.

Learn how we decked out her Mercedes Sprinter campervan with the comforts of home.

A few of our favourite things about this Mercedes Sprinter Campervan Conversion:

Full Time Living

More than a getaway vehicle, Jane’s Sprinter needed to provide the comforts of home, have plenty of storage, and a fully functional layout. We took care of the first one with a comfy fixed bed. Making a bed is hard enough, so who would want to pack it up every day? We made sure the design could accommodate a queen size mattress for maximum comfort.

Next up was bedside storage. We installed storage cabinets directly next to the bed, along with a full length top cabinet, making everything easily accessible. Living in a van full time means storage space is at a premium, so we created a garage space under the bed, utilising a pull-out tray and o-track for securing anything and everything. Finally, we added an awning to allow for outdoor hangs in the blinding sun and driving rain.

Ability to Travel with Friends

While traveling the country, it's inevitable you'll want to grab a friend for a hike or camping trip. Having a third seat for an extra traveller was essential, as are the swivel front seats. These easily create a seating area without taking up more space. With the help of a Lagun table mount, a game of cards or social dinner is a breeze.

Scandi Vibes

A beautiful aesthetic is key to any Matt + Dan’s campervan, but crucial for anyone living in a van full time. We decked out the interior with wood panelling and complemented the Scandinavian looks with clean white cabinetry. *Chef’s kiss*

Jane’s desire to live in her Sprinter full time allowed us to really zero into the comforts of home, fitting out her campervan with van-friendly modifications. A cosy abode on wheels, we couldn’t think of a better way to cruise around New Zealand.
