Featured Van: ScreenSouth’s Ford E-Transit Conversion

When it comes to campervan conversions, creating a welcoming environment is crucial—especially when it serves as a mobile clinic. We had the pleasure of working with ScreenSouth, an organisation that provides mobile cervical, bowel, and breast screenings to the South Island. They approached us not only for our expertise in conversions but also for the aesthetic and cleanliness of our builds.

Their vision was clear: they wanted a space that was inviting to their customers, steering away from the traditional clinical look. Check out how we turned their Ford E-Transit into a beautiful, welcoming space.

A few of our favourite things about this Ford
E-Transit Conversion:

Inviting aesthetic

Understanding the importance of a calm and welcoming atmosphere, we crafted an interior that balances cleanliness with character. Rather than opting for typical stark white, we chose warm wooden finishes that provide a soothing ambience. A key feature in this design is a bed lift, enhancing accessibility and making it easier for patients to use the facilities comfortably. To ensure the van is usable year-round, we integrated a heating and cooling air conditioning system, so it remains a comfortable space regardless of the weather.

Completely custom interior design

ScreenSouth had specific requirements, which meant we needed to dive deep into their operational needs. Collaborating closely with their team, we designed a custom interior that accommodates various medical equipment while maximising space and functionality. The goal was to create an environment where healthcare professionals can efficiently conduct screenings, all while ensuring that patients feel at ease.

Electric vehicle + power system

Adding even more excitement to this project, ScreenSouth received funding for an E-Transit, allowing us to work with electric vehicle technology. We installed an EcoFlow power kit, providing an off-grid power system that ensures the air conditioning and lights function even when not hooked up to a power supply.

This van conversion is more than just a mobile clinic; it's a carefully designed space that prioritises patient comfort and operational efficiency. We’re proud to have played a part in creating an inviting atmosphere for vital health screenings and look forward to seeing the ScreenSouth van on the road.
