Now introducing, our Toyota Hiace ZL — our latest campervan conversion in the Matt and Dan’s A-List fleet. Fully self-contained and featuring all the bells and whistles for comforts on a New Zealand road trip, Mr. Van-derson (the van’s formal name, obviously) is ready to hit the open road.

A few of our favourite things about this Toyota Hiace ZL Campervan Conversion:

True Refinement

This all-new campervan is all about refinement. With quite a few conversions through the years, we’ve been able to see what works, what doesn’t, and what’s comfortable and practical. All those learnings are in this campervan.

We’ve updated the electrical system to be more compact and efficient — featuring a 100AH lithium battery with the ability to hold more batteries and a DC/DC for more efficient alternator charging. The cabinetry is made of lightweight and durable HPL plywood, plus it’s more efficient and easier to use. We also opted for a Maxxfan rather than a passive air vent, which is better for summer camping and helps with condensation in the winter.

Layout

Comfort is king at Matt and Dan’s. The twin-sliders gave us room to play around with the kitchen and living space, allowing us for a sink and benchspace upfront, a bed in the back, and a slide-out cooker in the very rear. This also allowed us to put in a pretty much queen size bed instead of a double. Trust us, you want that.

The updated layout accommodates new self-containment regulations, which require a fixed cassette toilet on lockable drawer runners.

Updated Components

We’re not skimping on the goods here. We’ve searched high and low for the best in the biz and put some pretty cool stuff inside this campervan. Mr. Van-derson features a 30L compressor fridge, water pump, fast charge USB A&C ports, and plenty of dimmable LED lighting to set the mood.

Slide-out Cooker and Workspace

A true space-saving luxury, the slide-out cooker allows plenty of bench space in the kitchenette, meaning two people can prep dinner at once! The rear door acts as a cover if the weather doesn’t play ball and the cooker features a slide-out workbench — the perfect al fresco kitchen.

This campervan is available to rent through our fleet, but we also offer it as a turnkey option if you love the layout. Pick the features, colours, and materials that suit you and bam! You’ve got your van. If this sounds like something you’re interested in — get in touch with us here.
