Featured Van: Steve’s LDV Deliver 9 Big Campervan Conversion

We love a campervan conversion that gives the people what they want. Steve came to us with a unique campervan conversion need — he wanted to be able to easily store and charge his and his wife’s e-bikes, all in the van. He also wanted to be able to do it after being off-grid for a few days. Of course, we said no problem. Check out how we made it work.

A few of our favourite things about this LDV Deliver 9 Big Campervan Conversion:

Lift bed!

A Matt and Dan’s first, we kitted out Steve’s campervan with a lift bed. It’s the perfect solution for those who want a seating area and a full size fixed bed, if your van has the space. Luckily, Steve’s did, and we added in a switch in the power system control area which turns the ceiling to bed in a matter of seconds. We integrated paneling under the bed to match the ceiling so things look streamlined when it’s in seating area mode.

Custom Design Layout and Storage

Steve didn’t want our regular layout for his campervan conversion, so we designed his custom. He wasn’t interested in making his campervan self-contained, so in lieu of an onboard water system we made a custom tall cabinet that offers plenty of storage, a fridge, and a power system.

His main use for the campervan is e-bike hauling, so he can easily store the bikes in-between the seating area, with plenty of room for the bed to slide down at night for a comfy sleep. When the bikes aren’t stored in the van, the space can also be used as a seating area with a collapsible table for dining delight.

Power System - E-Bike Power Station

An e-bike power station was a must-have for Steve, so we put a big ol’ power system in — a 2000w inverter and 400ah of lithium batteries. This allows Steve and his wife to power e-bikes, hair dryers, and other care essentials off-grid for days.

So, campervan conversion enthusiasts, let this be a lesson that the sky’s the limit. Whether you’re looking to live out of your van full time or are looking for a rig that allows you to haul your gear while living a comfy off-grid life, we’re here for you.
